Zoe Kansky

Zoe Kansky has been working exclusively in criminal law since 2017.
Zoe joined a large private law firm in Brisbane City as a law clerk during university and was mentored by senior criminal lawyers including Nick and Alan for several years, as well as recognised criminal law barristers. For two years she assisted counsel and senior lawyers with trial preparation and developed her written skills and advocacy in court. She decided to exclusively practice in crime following her admission in 2019.
Zoe holds degrees from the University of Queensland (UQ) with a Bachelor of Business Management, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.
Following her admission, Zoe continued to work in private practice for four years and was promoted to Associate. She then joined Legal Aid Queensland as a lawyer in the Brisbane City office for a year. At Legal Aid, Zoe represented hundreds of disadvantaged and vulnerable clients including many first-time offenders in Brisbane with a particular focus on the busy remand and arrest courts.
She returned to private practice to join Phillips Crawford Lawyers in August 2024.
Zoe has been involved in complex District and Supreme Court trials including murders, drug trafficking, serious violent offences, sexual offences, historical offences as well as criminal matters involving co-accused defendants and multiple complainants. She is detail-oriented and careful in examining voluminous briefs of evidence to find solutions for her clients that are often overlooked.
Zoe is an experienced lawyer who values honest and direct communication with her clients and will guide them through the overwhelming court process from beginning to end.
